Babacar Seck

Babacar Seck was raised in Dakar, Senegal in a musical family. He started drumming from a young age and came to Boston in 2007. Babacar plays the sabar drums of Senegal, as well as the djembe drum of Mali and Guinea. He plays with a variety of Boston Afro-fusion bands, and frequently travels throughout the US to play for African dance and drum conferences as well as other events. Babacar has been playing with Ammaya Dance & Drum for several years, and frequently helps lead community drum circles. He currently resides in Dorchester with his wife and family.
